Bilateral Stimulation at Home
In my office, you will follow my wand to move your eyes. When we do EMDR via Telehealth, there are three ways to replace “following my wand.” I will tap on my laptop to assist you in following the speed and ending of each set.
1 Set up 1, for the eye movement
This setup only works if you have a monitor that is big enough. You can attach two stickers on the same level in the two sides of the screen and move your eyes between these two stickers.
2. Set up 2
Find a comfortable seat and put down your device. You need both of your hands-frees. You will tap on the outside or top of your legs while listening to my tapping from my laptop.
3. Set up 3
This setup is what we called the butterfly hug. Find a comfortable place to sit down. Put down your device. You need both of your hands-frees. You hug yourself and tap on the side of your arms while listening to my tapping from my laptop.
